Monroe, Wisconsin boasts many unique opportunities and claims to fame. One is that it is home to the only cheese factory in the U.S. that produces the world-famous Limburger cheese.
Another is the collaborative art exhibit by Janesville, Wisconsin artist James Richter and Cedarville, Illinois artist Roger Goodspeed. Both artists have discovered the interesting compositions and beauty present in man-made and everyday objects that surround all of us.
Painting primarily in oils, part of Richter's works on display will include his sign painter series - paintings of unique sign works from around the country, such as neon signs, wood signs, and one-of-a-kind signs.
Goodspeed's acrylic and watercolor images of antique cars, tractors, and other vintage equipment transport the viewer back in time. "Everyone appreciates the beauty of a rose but we sometimes fail to see the beauty in a greasy carburetor," observes Goodspeed.
