The Gunderson Stiles Concert Hall is the centerpiece of the Monroe Arts Center facility. It was named to honor Margaret Gunderson Stiles, the dynamic leading force behind a major fundraising campaign to purchase the Methodist church and parsonage and make them the home of the Monroe Arts Center.
The concert hall is a remarkable architectural achievement and has excellent acoustics. With a seating capacity of 290 (including the balcony) it is the venue for the majority of our Entertainment Series performances and has made the Monroe Arts Center an extremely popular site for weddings.
This magnificent 19th century hall features stained glass windows, Tiffany-style chandeliers and original woodwork throughout. Its newly-restored proscenium stage is also home to a Yamaha grand piano.
Completely air-conditioned, this is an exceptional venue for performances ranging from recitals to concerts to theatrical productions.
